The Housing Support program focuses on breaking the cycle of homelessness, building a better connected service system and striving towards sustainable housing to improve economic and social participation of those at risk of homelessness.

The housing support service is located in Karratha, Roebourne, South Hedland and Newman. The service focuses on 3 key strategies:

  • Breaking the cycle of homelessness to help people get back on their feet, find stable accommodation and obtain employment;
  • A better connected service system that will build more connected, integrated and responsive services that strive to achieve; and
  • Sustainable housing, and improve economic and social participation of those at risk of homelessness.

The housing support service supports and  assists clients to obtain secure, stable, and long term accommodation. Working closely with other services such as Department of Communities, the housing support service focuses on educating clients so they have the skills and knowledge to sustain and maintain their long term tenancy.

Housing in most cases is a common need with clients. When housing is a priority whether it be for the homeless or those that have fled from a DV situation, the first priority is to help arrange their long-term housing. The service assists clients to submit documentation required by Department of Communities to be assessed for priority assistance listing.
